The Providence Mental Therapy Session Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while providing essential therapeutic support to children and families throughout Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese and equipped to deliver effective in-community therapy services to adolescents dealing with developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions with children and adolescents aged 3-20, either in-home or through telehealth services.

  • Implement tailored therapeutic approaches that address various mental health issues, including anger management, coping skills, decision-making, and social skills enhancement.
  • \n
  • Work closely with families to create and execute actionable treatment plans aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injury and physical aggression.

  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to ensure cohesive treatment strategies and optimal client support.

  • Complete and submit all necessary documentation accurately and on time, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • \n
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, providing insightful updates and suggestions based on client experiences and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Therapist will serve a diverse patient population, including children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clients often face unique challenges, requiring tailored therapeutic interventions that foster resilience and adaptability. By focusing on the strengths of each child and their family, our therapists help facilitate positive behavioral change and emotional growth.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Active and unrestricted LMFT license in Pennsylvania.
  • \n
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with additional flexibility on weekends being an advantage.

  • Strong background in providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions.
  • \n
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards in therapy.
  • \n
  • Proficient in documenting clinical notes and treatment progress in compliance with established guidelines.
  • \n
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.
  • \n
  • Ability to successfully pass background checks, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

  • Proficiency in both Spanish and Portuguese to enhance communication with a diverse client base.

  • Experience in developing and facilitating group therapy sessions.

Compensation and Benefits\n
