Quality Technician III

The Quality Technician III works with Manufacturing, Quality, and Quality Engineering to continuously improve quality performance ensuring compliance with quality standards. This role performs a variety of quality control inspections on products, materials, components and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards, and to ensure effective inspection and testing procedures are implemented. Responsibilities Conduct routine quality inspections of components to be used during development and production. Perform in-process and final quality checks of parts and assemblies. Perform workstation audits. Maintain documentation of all inspections and potential issues. Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections. Assist with problem resolution. Suggest process improvements. Program and operate CMM. Develop and maintain company inspection reports. Inspect goods or products according to quality and safety standards. Ensure goods and products comply with company and customer standards as well as Federal and State law. Report quality anomalies to the supervisor. Collate test data and draft quality reports. Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes. Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures. Assist Quality Control Lead and Quality Engineer as needed. Other quality-related tasks as assigned. Qualifications Experience with setup and running CMM or similar automated equipment. Ability to read and understand optical and mechanical drawings. Advanced knowledge of GD&T. Experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI). Extensive experience with the use of calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, other common inspection equipment, and good measurement practices. Experience with the use of Microsoft Suite products. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work overtime as required. Strong commitment to accurate, honest, quality records. Thorough knowledge of all inspection equipment appropriate to the specific position. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100. Neat and concise writing. Ability to use a computer for data collection and reporting. U.S. citizenship or permanent residence required. Education & Experience Associate Degree (technical) plus 5-7 years of related experience, or High School Diploma with +10 years of related experience. Knowledge of advanced shop math. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to see details at a close range; ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; work performed in cleanroom environment.
