MRI Technologist

Job Summary:


The Radiology / Cardiology MRI Technologist is responsible for performing advanced MRI imaging procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and specialized imaging techniques. The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams to produce high-quality diagnostic images for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. This position demands a minimum of two years of experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to work assigned shifts without schedule conflicts.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI imaging procedures using GE and Siemens equipment across various anatomical regions including abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, and musculoskeletal systems.
• Utilize specialized imaging techniques such as diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral magnetic resonance, spin echo images, surface coils, T1 and T2, and CINE sequences.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.
• Float between NHRMC Orthopedics and the main hospital as required.
• Participate as a member of the Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, reporting to work during catastrophic events or disasters.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies including no RTO after booking and adherence to orientation schedules.
• Document procedures and patient information accurately using EPIC system.
• Provide patient care for a broad age range including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with preferred familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatrics.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of 2 years MRI technologist experience; first-time travelers not accepted.
• Proficient in abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal MRI imaging and related techniques.
• Certification: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Ability to work 3x12 hour night shifts (1830-0700) Thursday through Saturday.
• Experience with EPIC documentation system.
• Availability for full orientation and training schedule without conflicts.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Skills in chest imaging and image post-processing.
• Experience working with neonates, infants, and pediatric patients.

Special Considerations:

• No RTO allowed after booking and no working out onsite for RTO.
• Missing any portion of orientation may delay or cancel start date.
• Float requirement between NHRMC Orthopedics and main hospital.
• Contract staff must participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during disasters or mass casualty events.
• Possible consolidation to Centralized Office mid-contract with reassignment to different units.
• Scrubs color requirement: royal blue.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour night shifts, Thursday through Saturday, from 1830 to 0700.
• Assignments and start dates are subject to change based on class and trainer availability.
• Orientation hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM during the first week; full attendance required.
• Scheduling is per unit needs with no call requirement.
