About the Position

Job Title: Client Child Health RN Profession: RN Specialty: Newborn Nursery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current nursing licensure Certifications: Basic Life Support (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation Program, AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification Must-Have: Preferred certifications include STABLE, Baby Friendly experience Description: The Client Child Health RN is responsible and accountable to a group of patients for a designated timeframe. The RN provides care to patients through the therapeutic use of the nursing process, in collaboration and integration with other healthcare team members. The RN demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care relevant to the patients under their care, applying principles of growth and development over the lifespan. The RN assesses and interprets patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. The RN functions in the role of a primary RN in the following areas: Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, and Mother-Baby and GYN patients. Additionally, the RN may be floated to other areas as a resource, as directed by hospital leadership or the House Supervisor. When floated, the RN is expected to follow the guidance of the Charge Nurse or RN in the assigned department while maintaining high standards of care and safety within their scope of practice. Education and Training Requirements: Current nursing licensure required. Basic Life Support (AHA) required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) required upon hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program required upon hire. AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification required upon hire. STABLE preferred. Also, certification preferred. Baby Friendly experience preferred. Work Experience Requirements: Three years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Three years of experience in Nursery. Three years of experience in Medical-Surgical. Proficiency with electronic medical record documentation preferred. General Comments: Weekends required every third weekend.
