Custodian

Custodial Staff Positions

Three positions are available for custodial staff, one for each location. The start date is as soon as possible, and the end date is June 30, 2022, with a possible extension. The schedule for the three employees is to inspect assigned buildings, including classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, common areas, lobbies, hallways, interior stairs, and elevators. Responsibilities include removing trash where needed, organizing classroom furniture, cleaning tabletops, inspecting and cleaning restrooms, vacuuming carpets, sweeping, and spot mopping where needed.

Locations and schedules:

• Washington campus, 108 N. 40th St., Phoenix, AZ 85034. Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8pm - 4:30am.
• Central City campus, 1245 E. Buckeye Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85034. Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 6pm - 2:30am.

Skills and experience required:

• Experience working with industrial cleaning methods and chemicals.
• Experience operating custodial equipment.
• Education required: High School Diploma or GED.

Essential duties:

• 40% - Sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors. Vacuum and clean carpets. Clean whiteboards; dust and polish furniture.
• 20% - Clean and maintain restrooms.
• 20% - Arrange furniture and equipment for events.
• 10% - Empty and clean trash and recycle receptacles.
• 10% - Perform minor maintenance tasks and report repairs that are needed.
