The Market Basket - Franklin Lakes
The Market Basket, Bergen County's leading Gourmet Food Store, is seeking an experienced Baker/Cake Decorator. We are looking for a passionate, skilled baker who loves working with high-quality ingredients and takes pride in their craft. The successful candidate will collaborate with our team of bakers in a fast-paced, exciting and unique environment. Responsibilities Include: •Prepare pastry, cakes, pies and associated baked goods
•Decorate the items above for both retail sales and catering
•Monitor the quality of all food
•Develop new items by following and creating market trends (Vegan, Gluten Free, etc.)
•Work efficiently and help to resolve any problems that arise in the pastry kitchen
•Operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and remain calm under pressure
•Maintain a clean kitchen and abide by all state food safety and sanitation laws Skills: •Excellent communications and organization skills
•Able to work in a fast-paced environment
•Strong and positive work ethic and integrity
•Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices
•Teamwork abilities
•Ability to lift 50 lbs
