Manufacturing Machine Operator

In this hands‑on role you will operate production equipment, ensure parts meet customer specifications, and keep the manufacturing process running smoothly and efficiently. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Set up different presses per procedure with minimum downtime (insert die boards, load material, and check for correct material and yield per F.O.). Learn all the required functions of presses in the press bank, such as turning the machine on/off, emergency stop, checking the roll stand, and ensuring the material is fitting properly through the feeder. Operate the press at maximum speed that allows for safety and a consistent, accurate cut part outcome. Run material through the press, meet quality count and rate requirements according to customer and HGC guidelines. Constantly monitor quality results, pay attention to detail and report any defects. Catch and/or move gaskets from the press neatly to avoid distortion. Finish parts and remove scrap from gaskets. Consistently meet efficiency goals per factory order. Separate box quantities according to customer guidelines. Fill out the paperwork correctly for each run. Measure and compare parts for accuracy. Match all parts with the order blueprint and ensure that parts have all the material branding requirements. Prepare parts for shipping, pack parts into cartons, and ensure all parts have been packed following the required instructions. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages. Strong interpersonal, customer service, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Adaptability skills to manage frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Ability to work self‑sufficiently to ensure accuracy and quality of tasks. Ability to navigate and resolve internal or external situations effectively and resourcefully. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co‑workers, and HGC stakeholders. Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor work to ensure quality. Ability to manage both emotional and social intelligence. Strong willingness to learn new processes and procedures. Ability to follow HGC safety and security guidelines when operating and using company equipment and materials. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing experience a plus. Ability to read and write effectively in English to understand work instructions and complete required documentation. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing for extended periods 5–10 hours per day. Walking for long periods 1–5 hours per day. Ability to sit (based on position and department) 1–5 hours per day. Twisting, bending, reaching, and engaging in rapid reflex movements for up to 10 hours a day. Circumduction, pushing, pulling, reaching, and engaging in rapid flex movements with both arms up to 10 hours a day. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Occasionally lift and carry objects (30 lbs. maximum). Occasionally climb/use a ladder. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Manufacturing plant and office employees may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS None COMPENSATION $17.75 per hour based on experience. SCHEDULE Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. LOCATION On‑Site, Indianapolis (Martindale‑Brightwood area) SIGN‑ON BONUS Earn $200 after your first 90 days, $300 after 6 months, and $500 after reaching your 1‑year anniversary with the company. INCENTIVE PAY Opportunity to earn additional incentive pay based on efficiency and performance.
