Job Description
The Diesel Mechanic plays a hands-on role in maintaining and repairing the organization's fleet of heavy-duty trucks. Reporting to the Fleet Manager and collaborating with other mechanics, this position focuses on conducting routine and emergency repairs while supporting preventative maintenance efforts to ensure vehicle safety and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on diesel trucks
- Conduct thorough fleet inspections to evaluate vehicle condition
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engine and mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during repairs
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager and other mechanics to prioritize work
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in diesel mechanics
- Technical certification in diesel mechanics or automotive technology
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Skill in diesel engine repair and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices
- Commitment to safety compliance
