Lazy Bear is looking for a service professional with experience working in a high touch, fine dining environment to join the management team as our Maitre'd. This position will be responsible for managing guest relations and overall flow and hospitality of the dining room floor including, but not limited to, pre-visit guest outreach, service logistics and planning, greeting and checking in guests, maintaining proper timing and personal touches for our guests, and providing exceptional hospitality on a nightly basis. Successful candidates must be obsessed with great hospitality; be friendly, outgoing, able to multitask, be extremely detail orientated, and have great follow through. We are looking for someone who can provide professional, efficient, polished, and genuinely warm service, all while maintaining the flow of communication amongst the team. The candidate must be able to retain an extensive amount of information regarding our operation, menu, as well as our guests, and be prepared to answer guest inquiries and questions accurately and knowledgeably. Previous fine dining or luxury hospitality experience is a plus.

• Tock or equivalent check-in reservation system (Opentable, Toast, Resy)
• Excellent verbal/written English, bonus points for additional languages
• Pleasant, professional, and patient telephone manner
• Previous experience in fine dining, restaurants or hospitality
• Previous reservations experience an asset
• Strong typing skills
• Preferred: computer literate; knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets), Dropbox, Adobe Platforms
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment
• Ability to pivot at a moments notice and adapt to changes easily 

• Work quickly and precisely in a high-pressure environment, while handling stress and direct feedback with grace, poise and integrity
• Enter guest information into the Lazy Bear ticketing system in order to ensure that data is accurate and comprehensive
• Handle multiple requests at any one time while maintaining composure
• Display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with guests and employees
• Work with colleagues on other teams to ensure that all guests requests are met
• Anticipate guests’ needs and provide well thought through solutions to any issues
• Follow up in order to ensure guest satisfaction
• Handle initial guest issues or complaints, while keeping management fully informed. Solve issues, and escalate to management as required.
• Be an ambassador at all times for Lazy Bear
• Complete any project or other tasks assigned by management.

Lazy Bear is a unique fine dining restaurant in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. We serve modern American cuisine with a pre-fixe menu of about 15 courses which changes often and features hyper seasonal, high quality local ingredients. We seat communally and style our service after a dinner party, creating unique opportunities for interaction with and between guests.
