Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Technical Accountant to lead technical accounting research, prepare the company for public‑company reporting, and optimize financials. Reporting to the Director of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, you will play a crucial role in accounting transformation by establishing robust internal controls and drafting policies to ensure flawless execution during audits. Key Responsibilities Research, evaluate, and document complex technical accounting issues, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 718 (Stock‑based Compensation), and business combinations. Draft and maintain comprehensive accounting policy memorandums to support non‑standard transactions and audit reviews. Analyze the financial impact of complex manufacturing and supply chain agreements. Assist in the preparation and review of public filing documents (e.g., S‑1, 10‑K, 10‑Q) and coordinate the drafting of footnotes and MD&A disclosures. Design, implement, and document internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to meet Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance standards. Assist in external financial reporting, including XBRL tagging of financial statements. Collaborate with operational accounting and manufacturing teams to review standard versus actual costs, inventory valuation, and capitalization policies. Ensure that capitalized variances, fixed asset depreciation, and bill of materials (BOMs) accurately align with US GAAP. Assist with manufacturing variance analysis and capital expenditure accounting. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding technical accounting memos and quarterly/annual audit requests. Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes by reviewing non‑recurring complex journal entries and account reconciliations. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Active CPA. 4–8 years of total accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 or regional public accounting and private industry experience. Familiarity with cost accounting, ERP systems, and inventory controls.
