Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a supportive educational environment. This contract position is available immediately and runs through May 27th, providing specialized speech and language support to a diverse high school caseload. With a manageable caseload of 35 students, most of whom have specific learning disabilities, you will have the opportunity to focus on high-impact, individualized interventions.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Holds a current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate SLP endorsement
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required
- Previous experience supporting high school students in educational settings is strongly valued
- Strong assessment, intervention, and IEP documentation skills
- Able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for high school students, focusing on specific learning disabilities
- Develop and implement targeted Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting measurable goals
- Provide direct therapy services and consultative support to both students and staff
- Maintain documentation in compliance with state and district regulations
- Engage in ongoing communication with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress
