Registered Nurse - Med Surg / Orthopedics

Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedics department. As a Registered Nurse in our Med Surg / Orthopedics unit, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive and healing environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient's condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Monitor and document patient's progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers
• Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and self-care techniques
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med Surg or Orthopedics nursing
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• This is a part-time position, with the potential for full-time hours in the future
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications Required:

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required. BSN preferred.
• Licensure: Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
• Certification: Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Certification(s) as required by specific unit.
• Experience: Must meet unit specific care requirements.
• Language: Must be able to speak / understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

Physical Demands:

• Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
• Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients / equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift.
• Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste and known or unknown diseases.

• Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients / families at various ages and levels of understanding.
• Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.
• Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.
• Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
