Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, in-person position is based near Winsted, CT, and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children from Kindergarten through 7th grade.

Three dedicated Special Education Resource Teachers will be hired: one to support Kindergarten students, one for a Grade 1-2 caseload, and one to serve as a 7th grade resource and case manager. You’ll work Monday through Friday, 35-37.5 hours per week, collaborating closely with school staff, families, and students.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience with K-7th grade students preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
• Skilled in differentiating instruction to meet diverse needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
• Case management experience is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver special education resource services to assigned grade levels
• Work collaboratively with general educators and other specialists
• Create and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and the school team
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal guidelines
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development
