Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist

• Perform physical therapy evaluation and treatment of patients based upon physician orders/referrals
• Complete comprehensive evaluations using appropriate tools and procedures
• Review patient records for current diagnosis, history, precautions, and contraindications
• Establish measurable goals and develop treatment plans
• Regularly reassess the effectiveness of treatment plans and patient progress
• Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team and others
• Consult with medical providers regarding evaluations and treatment
• Recommend and assist in securing adaptive equipment for patients
• Maintain and submit required documentation
• Adhere to standards of business conduct and professional practice
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides
• Participate in or conduct staff development programs and obtain continuing education
