Python Data Engineer — Analytics Platform (Spark/PySpark)

Job Description Insight Global is seeking two Python Developers to join the Software Engineering team within the Analytics organization of a large healthcare client. The team supports a rebate forecasting platform built for the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) business. Launched three years ago, the product reached MVP status last year and is now focused on expanding functionality, improving stability, and supporting continued growth. The application is primarily built with Python and MySQL, with an Angular and Spring-based front end. The team is looking for engineers who can contribute to both the technical scalability and ongoing evolution of the platform. Key Responsibilities Python Developer – Data Engineering Focus Develop and maintain backend services using Python Build and optimize data processing workflows using PySpark and Spark SQL Deliver new features and enhancements aligned to the product roadmap Improve platform stability, performance, and reliability Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders Python Developer – Database Scaling Focus Lead efforts to optimize and scale MySQL databases as user adoption and data volumes grow Identify and resolve underlying performance and scalability challenges Implement improvements to database architecture and data management processes Contribute to backend application development using Python Support roadmap initiatives by developing new features and technical enhancements as the platform evolves Both positions offer the opportunity to work on a high-impact analytics product that directly supports critical PBM forecasting and business decision-making capabilities.
