This role includes debugging complex issues, mentoring junior engineers, and staying current with evolving technologies to guide best practices.This position is part of the Engineering team located onsite in Loveland, CO.In this role, a typical day will look like:Lead and attend design sessions for product featuresImplement product features with minimal oversightParticipate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologiesContribute to software architecture decisions with maintainability and extensibility in mindTriage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardwareEnsure delivery of high-quality code that optimizes the company's investmentContinually sustain and grow the embedded software, especially as technologies change.The essential requirements of the job include:Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant software development experienceStrong object-oriented design and programming skillsProficiency in understanding hardware systems constraintsProficiency in building maintainable software with testing and extensibility in mindUnderstanding of software architecture and testing fundamentalsDesired Experience:Experience building embedded systems in C/C++Reading and understanding hardware datasheets and schematicsHardware bring-up experienceExperience with the following:Modbus, RS485, RS232, SDI-12ARM Cortex-M processorsFreeRTOS or other modern RTOSUsing logic analyzersDebugging embedded software using debug probesAssembly languageCMakeContinuous integrationRefactoring and improving legacy codeBLE, cellular modems, and satellite modemsOtt is proud to be part of the environmental business within the Water Quality segment of Veralto (NYSE: VLTO), a $5.5B global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods. The compensation range for this role is $95,000 - $125,000 USD per year.
