Offer positive social and leisure interaction to all individuals throughout the day. Safely lift, transfer, and reposition individuals as outlined in daily schedules. Ensure safety during mealtimes, including food preparation, diet texture adjustments, dietary restrictions, adaptive equipment, and feeding assistance. Complete daily housekeeping duties: washing dishes, stripping and making beds, laundry, trash removal, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, mopping and sweeping. Maintain adequate supervision of individuals in the home, staying past scheduled hours if necessary until next shift or backup staffing arrives. Report to work during inclement weather to ensure supervision and care, including sheltering in place during a hurricane. Treat all people with dignity and respect, communicating in a friendly and professional manner with individuals, coworkers, visitors, and customers. If hired as a driver, operate large-capacity vehicles (10–12 passenger vans, wheelchair buses) to transport individuals to training centers, medical appointments, home visits, and community outings, complying with all DOT regulations and local laws. Required Qualifications High School Diploma 18 years of age or older Read, write, and comprehend English; ability to remain calm and communicate during a crisis Previous knowledge of using household appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, oven, etc.) Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend and lift, push wheelchairs, and use hands for tasks such as writing, typing, and handling small objects Preferred Qualifications For driver positions: ability to operate large-capacity vehicles (10–12 passenger vans, wheelchair buses) safely and navigate traffic. Valid Florida Driver’s License in good standing at all times.
