Travel Physical Therapist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled travel physical therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services across a variety of healthcare settings. The physical therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and maximize independence while adapting quickly to new clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, body mechanics, and safe mobility techniques.
• Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, orthotics, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate continuity of patient care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
• Adapt quickly to new facilities, workflows, and patient populations while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of physical therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Active physical therapist (PT) license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent physical therapy experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, patient mobility, and functional restoration.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, or long-term care settings.
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
• Strong adaptability and ability to quickly integrate into new clinical environments.
