UCHC is a leader in providing compassionate, accessible and evidence-based care within correctional environments. Southwoods State Prison, Bridgeton, NJ is the site where the Forensic Mental Health Clinician will practice. Responsibilities Arrives at DSM‑IV diagnoses with precision and accuracy through psychological testing and evaluation sessions. Provides crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and psycho‑education programming as clinically indicated to assigned inmates. Involves inmates and Department of Corrections staff in developing achievable and understandable psychosocial treatment plans. Advocates for appropriate resources for inmates based on assessed needs. Manages caseload demands effectively while balancing quality of care with the security needs of the Department of Corrections. Assumes overall case‑management responsibilities for assigned inmates, including coordination of treatment and liaison with community agencies and maintaining appropriate inmate records. Demonstrates competency in psychological testing and recognizes the unique needs and behaviors of adult inmates and seniors, providing individualized therapies. Must be approved by the Department of Corrections and adhere to all DOC requirements. Qualifications Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Psychology with relevant experience including training in psychological testing and a minimum of two (2) years of experience, including graduate training, in a behavioral health or related setting. Certifications / Licenses Licensed psychologist in New Jersey or possess an unrestricted permit to practice psychology in New Jersey by the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle for travel between sites.
