Job Summary:
Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position in a high-acuity emergency department setting. The role involves providing specialized care to patients with cardiac telemetry needs, including monitoring and interpreting strips, titrating cardiovascular drips, and assisting with patient vitals and medication administration. The position requires a strong telemedicine background and is focused on acute care emergency nursing.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), with the ability to self-schedule; shifts are days with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and coverage for 2 major holidays.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, ACLS Certification, BLS Certification, NIHSS certification through the American Heart Association or APEX, and a minimum of 2 years of recent telemedicine and cardiac telemetry experience. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer via RELIAS and a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for patients awaiting bed placement in the hospital, ability to interpret strips, and capacity to titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for patients in the emergency department who are awaiting transfer to inpatient beds, with orientation consisting of 2 shifts to Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus. Staff will assist with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration but will not act as primary RN for ED patients. The unit is a level 1 trauma setting with no vents. Float to other units may be required.
