Registered Nurse - Med Surg / Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Flexible shift options: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12 Hour Nights - 36 Hour Guarantee). Floating required.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves guiding patient teaching and overseeing ancillary personnel while adhering to professional nursing standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough physical, psychological, and social assessments on patient admission.
• Develop a personalized care plan based on patient assessments within 24 hours of admission.
• Implement care plans and document the effectiveness in the medical records, updating every 24 hours as needed.
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
• Teach patients and families about health conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Ensure adherence to therapeutic standards and hospital policies.
• Utilize multidisciplinary team strategies to resolve patient problems and needs.
• Adhere to infection-control policies and medication administration procedures.
• Maintain continuity of care through effective documentation and communication.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience.
• Experience in floating to Progressive Care Units.
• Proficient in telemetry and able to read and interpret heart rhythms.
• Covid-19 vaccination required (exemptions allowed).
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Active Michigan RN License (proof required).
