Career Opportunities with Vallarta Supermarkets A great place to work. About the Role The Produce Clerk ensures produce displays and shelving are well stocked, clean, organized, and presentable. This role trims and rotates products to maintain freshness and quality, assists customers with their needs, and supports department operations, all while following Vallarta’s high standardsof food safety and customer service. What You’ll Do Customer Service: Smile, greet, andassistcustomers courteously. Merchandising: Stock, trim, rotate, and replenish produce items to ensure freshness and quality. Operations: Load, transport, andorganize producemerchandise from coolers, storage, wet rack, and sales floor. Product Handling: Handleproduceitems carefully to prevent waste and damage;reportpoor qualityimmediately. Compliance & Safety: Follow company and health regulations; promote Vallarta’s Safety Program and report unsafe acts or conditions. Sanitation: Clean produce displays, equipment, and supplies; sweep and mop floors. Teamwork: Assistcoworkers, support merchandising plans approved by management, and communicate with supervisors. Other Duties: Performadditionaltasks asassigned to support department goals. Physical Requirements Stand and walk forlong periods(6–8 hours/day). Frequently bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach above/below shoulders. Frequent use of hands for simple andpowergrasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequentlyand up to 50 lbs. occasionally (e.g., potatoes, beans). Heaviest item carried: 50 lbs.; longest distance: 5 feet. Operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other moving equipment safely. Work near equipment and machinery; may walk on uneven ground. Exposure todust, gas, fumes, and noise. What We’re Looking For Ability to learn all types of produce. Ability tolearncare and use of produce equipment, machinery, and tools. Basicunderstanding ofEnglishlanguage. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, crowded environment. Responsible, professional, and team-oriented attitude. Must be able to transfer to other store locations within a reasonable commute. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Fast-paced retail producesettingwith direct customer interaction. Exposure toperishable products, refrigerated coolers, and changing conditions. Collaborative, team-focused workplace. Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
