Mechanical Assembly TechnicianThe Mechanical Assembly Technician analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs a broad range of complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and optical equipment down to the component level. This role focuses on diagnosing technical problems, performing precise mechanical assembly and repair, and ensuring equipment similar to ATM and mail-sorting systems operates reliably and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment down to the component level across a broad product line of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and optical systems.Diagnose technical problems on mechanical product lines, identify root causes, and determine appropriate repair strategies.Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly of equipment, including replacement, adjustment, and calibration of components.Use hand tools and other appropriate tools to perform detailed mechanical and electro-mechanical repairs.Troubleshoot and repair equipment similar to ATM and mail-sorting machines, ensuring proper function and reliability.Document findings, repairs performed, and parts used in a clear and accurate manner.Collaborate with other repair technicians to share knowledge, resolve complex issues, and support continuous improvement.Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while working on mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment.Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are properly handled and stored.Essential SkillsProven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at the component level.Strong mechanical skills with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and repair.Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and mechanical product lines.Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical and electronic equipment.Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems on a variety of equipment similar to ATM or mail-sorting systems.Proficiency with hand tools and related equipment used for mechanical assembly and repair.Previous work experience or formal education related to mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems.Attention to detail and accuracy when working on complex components and assemblies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a technical environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with optical equipment as part of electro-mechanical systems.Experience in troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical issues.Technical training, certification, or vocational education in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical disciplines.Ability to work effectively in a team of repair technicians and share technical knowledge.Strong documentation and communication skills to record repairs and convey technical information clearly.Why Work Here?You will join a highly technical repair team where you can deepen your hands-on skills with complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Work involves regular use of hand tools and other mechanical tools at a repair bench or similar workstation. The environment emphasizes precision, safety, and adherence to established procedures while handling a variety of equipment similar to ATM and mail-sorting systems.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Dulles, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
