Registered Nurse – Acute ICU/CCU Full‑time day shift (12 HR). Requisition number: REGIS009284. Location New Bridge Medical Center Responsibilities Assessment, treatment and patient care responsibilities delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development appropriate to the ages served. Identify and document initial observation and assessment of the patient’s needs for immediate nursing action. Systematically and accurately assess nursing needs to detect pertinent changes in the clinical picture. Select, plan, evaluate, and document care based on assessment. Assess, intervene, and document appropriately to meet patient’s educational, psychosocial, and discharge planning needs. Initiate appropriate referrals to other departments, services, and/or outside agencies for patient care. Initiate and follow through with patient and family teaching. Consult with unit nursing leadership regarding significant changes in patient condition. Communicate relevant patient care information on shift‑to‑shift reports. Utilize patient care standards in clinical practice. Collaborate with all members of the health care team. Document pertinent information regarding patient’s response to treatment in the chart. Complete admission/transfer summary sheet and/or discharge summary. Transcribe physician orders accurately and timely (when ward clerk unavailable). Seek clarification of unclear or inappropriate physician orders. Interpret clinical data and notify the physician promptly if immediate changes in management are indicated. Administer intravenous medications in compliance with policies and procedures. Titrate medicated infusions per physician prescriptives, protocols, and standard. Transport patients to operating room and from post‑anesthesia care unit. Check that emergency equipment is on hand and in good working order. Recognize and report malfunction or failure of equipment used in the area to Biomedical Engineering; take appropriate action to repair or replace such equipment (e.g., ventilators, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, suction apparatus, pumps, doppler, O2 tank, pacemaker). Check policy and procedures on proper handling of sharps. Indirect Patient Care Activities Participate in interdisciplinary patient care rounds by presenting findings. Apply principles of infection control and safety. Assist in the orientation of new personnel. Provide clinical supervision of LPNs, CNAs, ward clerks, and other ancillary staff. Deliver respectful, flexible, knowledgeable, confident, professional, pleasant, patient‑focused service in accordance with customer service performance expectations. Maintain departmental policies and procedures, objective, quality‑assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards. Assess gaps in policies and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps. Understand and adhere to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct. Be familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values statements. Other Job Duties Orient patient’s family to the new environment; develop rapport with patient’s family. Relieve the Nurse Manager/Clinical Director as required. Assist in data collection and analysis of Quality Assurance/​CQI monitors; participate in implementation of follow‑up action. Effectively utilize the hospital computer system as it pertains to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy. Participate actively on Quality Improvement committees as assigned. Assist other personnel as needed. Keep up to date with current trends pertinent to area of assignment. Participate in continuing education activities; attend mandatory scheduled in‑service programs; share information gained at conferences with colleagues. Respond to hospital codes (Code 9, Code Blue, Nurse Control, etc.), as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization. Attend monthly unit meetings. Position Qualifications Current New Jersey licensure as RN required. BLS & IV certification required. One year of medical‑surgical experience preferred. Clinical nursing skills for a new graduate RN. Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position. Education BSN required, or proof of enrollment in an accredited BSN program with completion expected within three (3) years of start date. Job Setting / Physical Demands All patient care areas. Frequently prolonged standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients. Protective clothing worn; face shield, gloves, impermeable gown. Benefits & Compensation Salary: $46.94‑$66.43 (commensurate with experience within posted range).
