Job description Director of Surgical Services (RN) Location: Missoula, Montana, United States Employment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Schedule: 8-hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM; occasional weekends and holidays as needed Sign-On Bonus : $15,000 Compensation: $120,000–$165,000 annually Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 (reimbursable with receipts; taxable) Position Overview The Director of Surgical Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the Surgical Services department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while achieving departmental and organizational goals. This role oversees clinical operations, staffing, budgeting, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement activities. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage Surgical Services operations and resources. Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and standards. Oversee patient care delivery, quality outcomes, and service excellence. Manage staffing, recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development. Prepare and monitor departmental budgets and financial performance. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements. Coordinate internal and external audits and quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Current Montana RN license or eligibility for licensure. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. BLS certification upon hire. Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Surgical Services RN. Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience at the Manager or Director level within Surgical Services. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, MBA, or related field. PALS and ACLS certifications within six (6) months of hire.
