Interventional Radiology Specialist

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $54.00/hour

Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with one rotating day off each week

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Interventional Radiology Specialist to join a fast-paced, high-performing healthcare system in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced imaging professional to work alongside top radiologists and clinical teams while delivering advanced, life-saving procedures in a collaborative and patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality routine and advanced interventional radiology procedures as ordered by physicians
• Prepare and position patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and proper imaging technique
• Verify patient identity, consent, and medical history, including contraindications and risk factors
• Administer contrast agents based on patient-specific factors (age, weight, medical condition)
• Assist radiologists during complex interventional procedures and anticipate procedural needs
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety and infection control protocols
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of procedures, medications, and patient interactions
• Manage room readiness, including inventory, equipment functionality, and supply levels
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT (R) certification required
• Texas Medical Board (TMB) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of radiology experience (interventional experience preferred)
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of radiologic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety principles
• Experience with imaging systems such as PACS and RIS
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
