A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: /n RN - ICU /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM /n• Interview with unit leaders required /n• 2 years recent ICU experience required /n• Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility /n• Driver's license required at submittal for distance verification /n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS /n• BSN degree required /n• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue /n• Work in 34-bed Med Surg ICU unit /n• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, PCU 1:4-5, MS 1:5-6 /n• Care for adults and pediatric patients over 15 years old /n• Common diagnoses include neuro surgery, respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, GI bleeds /n• Required to titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic drips /n• Work with various equipment including CVPs, A-lines, Swan catheters, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, ventilators /n• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitoring system /n• Float to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU /n• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays /n• Navy blue scrubs required /n• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination /n• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided /n• Use EPIC charting system /n• Manager creates schedule based on unit needs /n/n Facility: /n This Level 1 trauma center serves as the primary tertiary hospital for the healthcare system, featuring a fast-paced 34-bed Medical Surgical ICU.
