Description: Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis. Establishes nursing care objectives. Defines nursing interventions. Provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. Notes changing conditions and needs. Re-evaluates care objectives. Assures quality care by adhering to professional standards. Maintains cooperative relationships among healthcare team members. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies. Follows medication administration and storage procedures. Alerts others regarding potential concerns. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions to appropriate healthcare team members. Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Monitors all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Instructs individuals, families, or other groups on health education, disease prevention, and management. Provides patient care by reviewing provider orders. Communicates the nursing care plan and relevant information to other members of the healthcare team. Confers with providers to provide support to patients and families. Resolves patient issues by conferring with involved parties. Maintains standards of professional nursing care. Promotes a culture of safety by maintaining awareness of patient safety needs at all times. Acts as a patient advocate by voicing concerns. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories. Examines patients and documents their physical condition. Confers with family/support persons. Establishes nursing care objectives and defines interventions and schedules. Administers medications, wound care, and monitors patients for reactions. Prepares patients for exams and procedures. Explains procedures, treatment, and discharge information to patients and families. Demonstrates IV therapy competency, including care for central lines. Recognizes adverse signs and symptoms and reacts quickly in emergency situations. Supervises and delegates duties to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and other ancillary staff. Assures compliance with appropriate standards regarding patient safety goals. Performs any other duties as needed to uphold the organization's vision and mission. Attends additional training as assigned by management.
