Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.Dimensional Inspector – Supply ChainResponsibilities:Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure qualityInspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracyPerform complex inspections on purchased mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materialsResolve nonconformance and documentation issues, support Quality Management System policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesSupport the development of inspection plans at suppliersSupport supplier corrective action process, including verifying corrective action implementationProvide support to both internal and external stakeholders on SpaceX requirements and inspection processesCollaborate with teams, lead projects, and drive continuous improvement of processes both internally and at our suppliersBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of receiving, precision, or metrological inspection experiencePreferred Skills and Experience:1+ years of experience leading a project and/or teamExperience detecting design, documentation, and drawing flawsExperience as an avionics inspector for electro-mechanical components and assemblies such as wire harnesses and PCB/PCBAsExperience inspecting composite components and documentationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5Lean manufacturing principles such as FIFO, 5S, material flow, etc.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelAdditional Requirements:Ability to lift 30 lbs. unassistedStanding, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this positionOpen to working all required shift hours, including overtime, and weekends, as neededWilling to travel – up to 10-20%Frequent travel to suppliers around California required, valid driver's license mandatoryCompensation and Benefits:Pay range:Quality Inspector/Level 1: $24.00 - $31.00/hour Quality Inspector/Level 2: $28.00 - $37.00/hour Quality Inspector/Level 3: $33.00 - $43.00/hourYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
