Title: Software Test Engineer III

Location: Hybrid - Washington, DC; College Park, GA; Fort Worth, TX; Des Moines, WA Local only

Position Summary
Plans and performs software application testing throughout the SDLC using established testing methodologies, automation and defect-management tools, data validation, and security and performance considerations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, organize, maintain, and execute software test plans, test cases, test data, and test results against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
Perform unit-support, integration, system, and regression testing across applicable front-end, back-end, database, and interface components.
Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and basic coding or scripting skills; analyze software behavior and troubleshoot test failures.
Use Jira to document, prioritize, track, and communicate defects and work items.
Use SQL and Linux to validate data, inspect environments, review logs, and support troubleshooting.
Participate throughout the SDLC and collaborate with developers, engineers, analysts, and Agile or Scrum teams to improve testability and quality.
Apply security best practices and performance-testing techniques for complex applications; document risks, results, and recommendations.

Linux commands, logs, environments, and troubleshooting

Security best practices and performance testing for complex applications

Education and Experience
At least 6 years of relevant experience with an Associate degree. Experience must include software application testing, unit/integration/system/ regression concepts, Selenium, Jira, SQL, Linux, basic test scripting, and support for security or performance testing.

Additional Requirements

Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word proficiency.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Potential overtime, weekend work, and travel; no on-call requirement.
No separately identified nice-to-have skills.
