Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage:A culture that appreciates our Team MembersPaid Time Off ("PTO")Paid holidaysProfit SharingExcellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k)A culture of safetyA commitment to helping our Team Members do things that they never dreamed possible.What you'll be doing:Flexibility around Savage surface operations in the Carbon/Emery area with rotating day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.Operate heavy equipment proficiently, including completing pre?shift inspections and basic maintenance such as washing, greasing, and troubleshooting.Support yard flow by minimizing truck delays, maintaining pile identification accuracy, and staggering breaks to ensure continuous coverage.Perform non?equipment tasks as needed, including hand labor, repairs, equipment upkeep, and general site cleanup such as shoveling spills and completing scheduled/unscheduled duties.Maintain daily worksite cleanliness and meet MSHA standards across all yards.Follow supervisors' directions, complete assigned tasks, maintain punctuality, and work the designated schedule.Demonstrate teamwork, reliable communication, customer service, and professional interaction with customers and employees.Participate in SHAPS hazard identification/observations and assist with shift coverage related to volume changes or vacation needs.Show commitment to safe work practices and continual skill development that adds operational value.What you'll need:Willingness to help with all worksite duties that require attention, as directed by the site operations manager.Demonstrates worksite dependability by being punctual and present for scheduled work shiftsDetermined to always wear the appropriate and required PPEConduct themselves in a professional manner at all timesDemonstrates excellent workplace safety and is dedicated to helping others do the sameWillingness and ability to follow all rules and procedures as outlined by SavageWillingness and ability to work on holidays and weekends when neededAble to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervisionAble to communicate effectively in English, which includes basic skills in reading, writing, and comprehension:Physical Requirements:Must be willing to work outdoors in varying conditions, subject to all elementsAbility to lift 50-70 lbsClimb on and off railcars, heavy equipment, and tie processing equipment safelyWork 40 plus hours (possible weekends)Work on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time while performing duties that include walking, standing, and liftingAble to use basic hand toolsAdditional Information:A complete job description is available upon requestSavage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplaceCalifornia Residents Job Application Privacy NoticeYou may view available jobs at and apply using the online job posting.Team members may be eligible for a benefits package that is dependent on hours worked and position classification.
