Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will provide essential respiratory care services to patients in a variety of clinical settings. This role requires well-developed skills in managing respiratory therapies, including the use of ventilators and monitoring patient acuity levels.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Work into the permanent staff holiday schedule
• Scrub Color: Black

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments according to established protocols.
• Assess patient conditions and modify treatment plans based on acuity levels.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians and nursing staff.
• Participate in departmental initiatives to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and tracking.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Necessary certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and a valid California license.
• Proficient in using ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
• Experience with both pediatric and adult patient populations is required; NICU experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Additional Information

This position requires the Respiratory Therapist to float based on departmental needs and patient acuity. Orientation to the unit will be provided and may last between 1 to 3 days, depending on the candidate's experience. The position includes a commitment to being available for weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled.
