Substitute Bus Drivers on an as needed basis. Qualifications: Certificate of physical fitness to perform assigned duties and freedom from communicable disease, including tuberculosis, signed by a physician. Valid CDL and Illinois School Bus Driver's Permit Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports To: Transportation Supervisor

Job Goal: To safely and efficiently operate your school bus or any other legally acceptable vehicle used to transport students.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Conducts a daily pretrip inspection of the mechanical and safety equipment on the bus and records any defects on the form.
• Maintains the vehicle cleanliness both inside and out.
• Fuels the vehicle and checks and maintains required fluid levels.
• Maintains good student conduct on the bus and completes written conduct reports for students that have violated bus rules.
• Checks after every run for sleeping children and any personal items that may have been left on the bus.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year as established in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
