Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant

Galveston, TX area company is in need of a Staff Accountant on a temporary-to-hire basis. Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain journal entries and general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation

Minimum Educational and Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of experience as an Accountant handling general ledger accounting functions
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
• Working knowledge of GAAP reporting
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Salary is $63-70K on a permanent basis. Equivalent hourly rate during the temporary period.
