Miam Cafe Express – Line Cook Job Description We are looking for a creative, hard‑working Cook seeking a great opportunity. Responsibilities Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set‑up for all dishes. Handle, store, and rotate all products properly. Assist in food prep assignments during off‑peak periods as needed. Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen. Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement. Bring a positive attitude to everyday kitchen/restaurant tasks. Communicate with team members to maintain product on the food line. Communicate shortage of menu items to the Restaurant Manager immediately. Stock work stations according to procedural guidelines in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain appropriate portion and quality control: proper food handling, food safety, and sanitation standards to ServeSafe requirements at all times. Clean, sanitize, and keep food areas stocked. Meet all restaurant and customer service objectives. Requirements Proven cooking experience including positions of restaurant Line/Prep Cook. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests. Ability to work on your feet for 8 or more hours a day. Comfortable working with a team in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
