Pratt & Whitney's Hot Section Engineering (HSE) team is growing in Asheville, NC, and we are seeking experienced, creative, and motivated Structures engineers to analyze and design the next generation of commercial and military airfoil hardware.The Structures engineer will utilize state of the art analytical methods to validate the structural integrity of Hot Section airfoil (commercial and military). The engineer will be part of an integrated product team with responsibilities for executing FEMs, performing living analyses, and writing technical reports. Additional responsibilities include communicating technical progress and status to various program groups, senior management, as well as internal / external customers. The candidate will also be a member of the broader HSE community and support strategic development and growth of Structures discipline health.Qualifications You Must Have:BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)5+ years of engineering or aerospace experience, or 3+ years with an advanced degreeAbility to work in cross-disciplinary teamsExperience including analytical methods (FEA), hand calculations, and spreadsheet methodsExperience analyzing strength, stress, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage toleranceQualifications We Prefer:Analytical, problem solving and trending skillsProficiency with ANSYS APDL and / or WorkbenchExperience working with HSE airfoil Structures standardsAdvanced knowledge of LCF, TMF, HCF & FM failure modesFamiliarity with P&W Structures tools and proceduresStrong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skillsPlease ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role.This position is classified as:Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
