NorthSlopeTelecom,Inc.(NSTI)isseekinganexperienced FieldConstructionManager toleadtelecommunicationsconstructionactivitiesacrossAlaska.

Thisfield-focusedleadershippositionoverseesmultipleactiveprojectsinvolvingtowerconstruction,fiber,outsideplantinfrastructure,andtelecommunicationssystems.TheFieldConstructionManagerservesasakeyconnectionbetweenfieldcrews,ProjectManagement,andEngineeringtoensureworkiscompletedsafely,efficiently,andinaccordancewithprojectrequirements.

Theidealcandidatebringsstrongtelecommunicationsconstructionexperience,practicalfieldknowledge,andtheleadershipskillsnecessarytocoordinatecrews,resolvefieldchallenges,maintainhighstandardsofworkmanship,andkeepprojectsmovingforward.

KeyResponsibilities

FieldConstructionLeadership

Overseeconstructionactivitiesacrossmultipleactiveprojectsandjobsites.
Provideleadershipandtechnicaldirectionfortowerconstruction,fibersplicing,OSPtrenching,aerialconstruction,andtelecommunicationsinstallations.
Coordinatepersonnel,equipment,materials,logistics,andsiteactivitiestosupportprojectschedules.
Providedailyleadership,mentorship,andtechnicalsupporttofieldleadsandtechnicians.
ReinforceNSTI'ssafetyrequirements,constructionstandards,andqualityexpectations.

ProjectExecutionandCoordination

Reviewconstructiondrawings,specifications,scopesofwork,andotherprojectrequirements.
Ensurefieldworkiscompletedinaccordancewithapproveddesigns,specifications,safetystandards,andprojectexpectations.
WorkcloselywithProjectManagementandEngineeringtoidentifyandresolvefieldissues,designdiscrepancies,andconstructabilityconcerns.
Communicateprojectprogress,risks,redlines,fieldchanges,andresourceneedsinatimelymanner.
Forecastlabor,equipment,material,andlogisticalrequirementsforupcomingwork.
CoordinatematerialstagingandfieldlogisticswithProcurement,Warehouse,andprojectpersonnel.
Supportaccurateas-builtdocumentation,projectcloseout,andturnoveractivities.

Safety,QualityandFieldVerification

Performfieldwalkdownsandinspectionstoverifyprogress,workmanship,quality,andcompliancewithprojectrequirements.
Leadandparticipateinjobhazardanalyses,safetybriefings,qualityinspections,andpunch-listcompletion.
Identifyunsafeconditions,qualityconcerns,andconstructionrisksandensureappropriatecorrectiveactionistaken.
Supportfieldtestingandverificationactivities,includingOTDRandOLTStesting,RFtestingandpeaking,groundingvalidation,sweeptesting,andtowerinspections,asapplicable.
Promoteafieldculturecenteredonsafety,accountability,teamwork,quality,andcontinuousimprovement.

RequiredQualifications

Fiveormoreyearsofprogressivelyresponsibletelecommunicationsconstructionexperience.
Hands-onexperienceinatleasttwotelecommunicationsconstructiondisciplines,suchastowerconstruction,fiber,OSP,ortelecommunicationssystems.
Demonstratedexperienceleadingfieldcrewsandcoordinatingconstructionactivities.
Experienceworkinginremote,challenging,orhigh-stakesfieldenvironments.
Abilitytoread,interpret,andredlineconstructiondrawings,specifications,andscopesofwork.
Strongunderstandingofconstructionscheduling,fielddocumentation,materialplanning,logistics,andresourcecoordination.
Familiaritywithtelecommunicationstestingequipment,includingOTDRs,RFanalyzers,andsweeptesters.
Strongleadership,communication,organization,andproblem-solvingskills.
CurrentCPRandFirstAidcertification.
Abilityandwillingnesstotraveltoremotelocationsforextendedperiodsandworkflexibleschedulesbasedonprojectrequirements.

WorkEnvironmentandPhysicalRequirements

Thispositionispredominantlyfield-basedandrequirestraveltoprojectsitesthroughoutAlaska,includingremoteandruggedlocations.

TheFieldConstructionManagermustbecomfortableworkingoutdoorsinextremeweather,changingsiteconditions,andactiveconstructionenvironments.Thepositionmayrequirewalkingoveruneventerrain,liftingandcarryingequipment,climbingladdersortowerswhennecessary,andworkingextendorflexibleschedulesbasedonprojectandtravelrequirements.
