Welding Foreman - Structural Steel Fabrication

We are seeking an experienced Welding Foreman to oversee shop production, lead a team of welders and fitters, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role within a rapidly growing fabrication facility that has recently doubled in size, added brand-new welding machines and metal fabrication equipment, and continues to expand its workforce and capabilities.

This position offers the opportunity to lead fabrication efforts on large-scale structural steel projects used in high-rise buildings, launch pads, aerospace infrastructure, and heavy support structures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders, fitters, and shop personnel
• Ensure production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are met
• Provide hands-on support with welding, fit-up, and fabrication when needed
• Read and interpret weld prints, fabrication drawings, and project specifications
• Assign work, monitor productivity, and maintain workflow throughout the shift
• Train and mentor employees on welding techniques, safety practices, and quality expectations
• Conduct inspections to verify weld quality and adherence to specifications
• Promote and enforce a safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with management regarding production schedules, manpower needs, and project status

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural steel welding experience
• Previous leadership experience as a Lead Welder, Welding Supervisor, Foreman, or similar role
• Strong flux-core welding experience using 1/16" wire on carbon steel
• Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
• Experience with fit-up and fabrication processes
• Strong understanding of shop safety and quality standards
• Ability to lead by example and motivate a team in a fast-paced production environment

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cocoa, FL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
