QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of outside sales work experience 7+ years of sales-related experience (ideally industry-specific) Proficiency with computers and CRM systems Valid driver's license, insurance eligibility, and the ability to maintain the cleanliness and safety of a four-adult vehicle Strong research and problem-solving skills Ability to work a flexible schedule based on customer/department needs Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Ability to pioneer new customers, products, sales markets, and territories Professional communication, presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills PREFERRED - Leadership and team development experience Success for our Industrial Sales Manager looks like showing up on time every day with a professional attitude and a drive to meet company goals in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. INDUSTRIAL SALES MANAGER FUNCTIONS Team Leadership & Development - Managing the performance of assigned account managers/sales staff, onboarding new hires, and strengthening the team and additional professional/educational development opportunities. This role ensures employee compliance with company standards, sets clear performance expectations, provides ongoing training, and develops improvement plans when appropriate. The Industrial Sales Manager motivates the team and encourages everyone to keep growing. Sales Planning & Performance Management - Forecasting expected sales volume within your territory and developing annual profitability goals based on these projections. You'll execute new business plans, reports performance to leadership, and take corrective actions as needed to improve results. You'll stay on top of market trends, maintain price awareness, and implement strategic new sales programs. Territory & Account Management - Managing the daily operations within your region, strengthening relationships with key accounts, delivering high-level customer support, and maintaining an excellent company reputation. The Industrial Sales Manager also assists with accounts receivable efforts, customer payment resolutions, and coordinating with teams to maximize our impact. Strategic Planning & Market Development - Laying the groundwork for long-term revenue and profitability strategies within the territory, researching potential expansion or realignment opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with key supply partners and other department managers. Operational & Event Leadership - Leading weekly sales meetings to provide direction across all departments, support process improvement, and ensure compliance/alignment in all work activities. You'll attend business development events (Sales Blitzes, Open Houses, etc.), foster connections with new and existing customers, and pursue additional educational/professional opportunities as needed. Supplemental Industrial Sales Manager Responsibilities - Establishing strategies for meeting long-term targets and corporate objectives across departments, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and assisting in other areas as needed to increase profitability.
