What You'll Do:

As a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech, you'll play a vital role in supporting surgical teams during complex liver transplant procedures and a broad spectrum of other surgeries. Your expertise will ensure procedures run smoothly, maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique and patient safety. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech in a hospital setting
• Proven ability to scrub liver recipient transplants independently, with recent experience preferred
• Extensive experience with large open belly cases, including general, urology, thoracic, gynecology, plastics, Whipple procedures, liver resections, and free flap surgeries
• Proficiency with aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation
• Familiarity with advanced equipment such as DaVinci XI robotic system
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing and maintaining sterile fields

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in transplant surgery support roles
• Additional certifications related to surgical technology or specialty procedures
• Ability to adapt quickly to new surgical technologies and practices

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from NBSTSA or equivalent
• At least 2+ years of perioperative experience, particularly in transplant or complex surgical procedures

Other Requirements:

• Current BCLS certification required
• Willingness to participate in call shifts (40-60 hours over a 6-week schedule including nights and holidays)
• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) starting 07/13/2026
• Eligibility to work in accordance with state and federal laws; note that after March 1, 2026, new contracts related to this role will no longer be available for Indiana residents at IU Health University in specified specialties
