Senior Interior Designer - Senior Living

The San Francisco office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Interior Designer to join our team. Responsibilities Lead the design efforts for all stages of a project, including leadership with the client, contractors, and internal team. Assist in the management of projects through developing project scope, schedules, job production, quality, and fee management. Lead programming, conceptualization, development and integration of strategic design solutions. Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate materials. Document architectural drawings. Assist in construction administration including responding to RFIs, preparing sketches and addenda, and visiting the construction site to gather information and/or prepare a punch list. Oversee the design work of others to ensure integrated and cohesive design, supervise preparation of drawings for all project phases, and ensure guidelines, quality control, standards and details. Lead all phases of the design process including programming and developing workplace standards. Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching. Participate in recruitment and interviewing process as requested. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent. Experience working in Mixed‑Use, Hospitality and/or Senior Living. The ability to set design direction for junior staff. A varied and flexible aesthetic that meets diverse client needs. Minimum 10 years of related experience. Architectural or Interior Design registration required. LEED AP preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Technical competence and proven experience in schematic design through construction documents. The ability to contribute and participate in an interdisciplinary team environment. Only candidates who meet these requirements will be considered.
