Executive Director: Firefly Sisterhood Location: Plymouth, MN / Hennepin County; hybrid, remote and in-person work Reports to: Board of Directors Status: Full-Time, Exempt (may include some nights and weekends) Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000 Our Mission At Firefly Sisterhood, we ensure that no woman faces breast cancer alone. We foster wellbeing and hope through meaningful, one-to-one peer mentor connections. The Executive Director is the “Hub” of this mission—scaling our impact and ensuring every woman in our community has a sister to lean on. The Opportunity We are looking for a proactive, visionary leader with a strong background in nonprofit and financial management to serve as our Executive Director. The Executive Director is the primary architect of our growth, strengthening our roots in the Twin Cities and beyond while tracking and responding to the evolving needs of cancer support. Your Strategic Impact Vision & Strategy Shape the Future: Lead the design of our strategic plan, ensuring our resources and competencies are aligned with our long‑term aspirations. Community Architect: Develop and implement innovative strategies to engage our community in philanthropy, volunteerism, and program services. Market Perceiver: Stay ahead of trends in the Twin Cities cancer support landscape to ensure Firefly remains a leader in specialized breast cancer care. Community & Partnerships Mobilize for Good: Act as our primary ambassador, inspiring the community to engage in key projects and initiatives. Strategic Alliances: Partner with other organizations to create a seamless “support model” for the community, knowing when to lead and when to collaborate for the benefit of our participants. Resource Expansion: Proactively secure and leverage internal and external resources to magnify our reach and ensure sustainable programming. Culture & Team Leadership Talent Champion: Attract, retain, and inspire a knowledgeable team. Bring a servant leader mindset to ensure that team members feel valued, empowered, and capable of making a real difference. Mentorship & Growth: Directly supervise and coach all staff, providing the vision and support they need to excel. Excellence in Action: Foster team spirit and maintain a standard of excellence in every community interaction. Nonprofit & Financial Management Board Governance & Development: Work with the Board to recruit new members, clearly define roles, and engage them in fundraising and strategic initiatives. Fundraising and Revenue Strategy: Develop diversified income streams, grant writing, donor cultivation, and managing of donor database. Financial Management: Budget creation and oversight, monitor cash flow, ensure compliance with restricted/unrestricted funds, and cost control. Major Event Planning & Execution: Rigorous budget management, secure sponsorships, along with meticulous attention to detail, timeline management, and oversee logistics from conception to execution. Who You Are Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record in non‑profit management or other mission‑driven organizational development, including strategic planning, major event planning, fundraising, team leadership, and financial management (Non‑profit management experience highly preferred). Relationship Builder: You possess high cultural competency and a demonstrated ability to build partnerships and communicate across diverse communities with both external partners as well as staff teams and a board of directors. Effective Communicator: You speak and write with clarity and passion, motivating others toward action through influence rather than just authority. Mission‑Aligned: You have a deep respect for direct services and an understanding of how one‑to‑one mentoring improves the human condition. Problem Solver: You thrive in situations where direction may be limited, using creativity and original thinking to find solutions. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (7+ years of relevant experience). Experience: Minimum of 5+ years managing complex, high‑value budgets; proven ability to fundraise and build donor relationship; employee management experience; strategic planning. Skills: Strong non‑profit management, financial management, project management, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Technology: Proficiency in using technology devices, platforms and office systems is required. Experience working with SaaS CRM (donor database and engagement platforms), business collaboration suites (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, basic QuickBooks), and social media is strongly preferred to support communication, reporting, fundraising, and accurate record management. Mission‑Driven: Alignment with Firefly Sisterhood mission and core values. Familiarity with healthcare or cancer patient journey preferred. Requirements: * Valid Minnesota driver’s license. Personal Auto Insurance (minimum $100k/$300k/$100k or $300k combined single limit). The Environment Flexibility: While primarily a 40‑hour daytime work week, this role includes some evenings and weekends to support our community events.
