Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist will support the HR Director in managing day-to-day HR operations across multiple locations. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, adaptable, and eager to grow within the human resources field. The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, payroll-related activities, and HR administration, while helping improve processes and ensuring smooth communication between leadership and employees.

• Assist the HR Director with daily HR operations across multiple sites, ensuring consistent application of HR practices and procedures.
• Support full-cycle recruiting by drafting and posting job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews with hiring managers.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, headcount planning, and timelines for filling open roles.
• Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
• Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation, including preparing materials, coordinating sessions, and setting up desks for new employees.
• Coordinate interview scheduling and internal communications between candidates, hiring managers, and leadership.
• Help track and manage open positions, hiring progress, and candidate pipelines using HR systems and tools.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including data entry, clerical tasks, and HR correspondence.
• Support payroll-related activities by assisting with employee data, changes, and basic payroll administration as needed.
• Assist with safety training coordination and ensure required training sessions are scheduled and documented.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and HR best practices in all HR activities and employee interactions.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion in all HR-related matters.
• Collaborate with team members and demonstrate a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed within HR operations.

• 1–2+ years of experience in human resources or an administrative support role.
• Human resources experience, including HR administration and HR support.
• Experience with hiring processes, including recruiting, interviewing coordination, and onboarding.
• Onboarding experience, including preparing new hire materials and setting up workstations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to multitask and support a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees and leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Data entry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Comfort working on-site 4 days per week.
• Administrative support and clerical skills relevant to HR operations.

• Experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems is a plus.
• Payroll experience or exposure to payroll processes is desirable.
• Experience coordinating safety training is beneficial.
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail in documentation, data entry, and employee records.
• Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist across various HR functions.
• Effective communication skills for supporting onboarding and employee inquiries.
• Ability to pass a drug test prior to starting.
• Interest in growing within the human resources profession.

This position is primarily on-site and supports a fast-paced, multi-location environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, with a 40-hour workweek typically structured as four 10-hour shifts. If a five-day schedule of eight hours per day is preferred, the team can accommodate that arrangement. The role involves regular interaction with employees, hiring managers, and leadership, and uses tools such as Microsoft Office and HR systems for data entry, documentation, recruiting, and onboarding activities. The environment emphasizes collaboration, professionalism, and confidentiality, with a focus on providing responsive HR support and a smooth experience for new and existing employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wooster, OH.

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $36.06/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
