Graphic Designer

Job OverviewGFI is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team. In this role, you’ll help bring our brands to life across print, packaging, digital, video, and event channels by creating visual content that inspires, informs, and engages customers and consumers.The ideal candidate is a collaborative and highly organized designer who can manage multiple projects, maintain brand consistency, and move creative work from concept through final production.What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:Develop graphics for product illustrations, logos, websites, and digital channelsDesign brand collateral, including flyers, catalogs, sell sheets, posters, and trade show displaysSelect colors, imagery, typography, and layouts that maintain consistency with established brand standardsDesign food labels and packaging from initial concept through print-ready production filesManage in-house and outsourced print projects, including file preparation and proof reviewDesign and update website graphics and contentCreate email templates, digital advertisements, and social media graphicsEdit short-form video and create motion graphics for web, social media, and digital campaignsDesign event materials, including booth displays, signage, and promotional itemsCollaborate with vendors and internal teams on packaging, labeling, and other graphic design projectsManage multiple creative projects while meeting established deadlines and production requirementsThings you need to be able to do:Minimum of two years of related graphic design experienceThorough knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignStrong understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, hierarchy, composition, color theory, and layoutWorking knowledge of print production, including CMYK and Pantone (PMS) color, dielines, bleeds, outlined text, linked and embedded images, and press-ready file preparationAbility to consistently apply and extend brand guidelines across packaging, print, digital, and event materialsWeb design experienceCopywriting and proofreading skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to follow direction, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to manage multiple projects independently and collaborativelyStrong communication and teamwork skillsPortfolio demonstrating print and digital design work is required for considerationThings that are a plus but not a deal-breaker:Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be consideredKnowledge of Squarespace or other website platformsPhotography experienceVideo editing and motion graphics experience using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or After EffectsFamiliarity with food packaging and labeling requirements, including Nutrition Facts panels and allergen statementsExperience using generative AI tools, such as Adobe Firefly, to support creative ideation and production within established brand guidelinesExperience creating packaging, marketing, or promotional materials for food, consumer products, or related industriesWhat we think you’ll love about Gourmet Foods International:Creative Impact: See your designs come to life across packaging, digital channels, food expos, customer events, and products nationwide.Career Growth: Take advantage of professional development, college tuition reimbursement, and advancement opportunities.Learning Culture: Work across a variety of creative formats, brands, products, and evolving technologies.Team Environment: Join an in-house Marketing team that values collaboration, creativity, and new ideas.Keeping It Fresh: Work with premium specialty foods and brands from around the world while helping tell their stories visually.Availability:Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
