Key statistics: 950+ Consultants 640+ Ph.D.s 90+ Disciplines 30+ Offices globally Our Opportunity We are currently seeking a Principal Regulatory Scientist for our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice to be based in our Philadelphia, PA office. Other locations may be considered. In this role you will work as part of a team providing a high level of project management and Federal and State regulatory and technical expertise. You will lead projects, identify new clients, build on relationships with existing clients, and develop new business in the regulatory space. You will be responsible for Identifying, pursuing, and securing new client engagements by understanding emerging needs and building long-term partnerships. Maintaining and growing trusted relationships with existing clients by consistently delivering high-quality work, anticipating future needs, and serving as a strategic advisor. Strong understanding of product stewardship and sustainabilitySolid background in regulatory compliance and risk assessment related to product stewardship and sustainabilityIdentifying new clients and new business marketing opportunities in related fieldsDeveloping clients through business development and marketing effortsClient management and project work; interacting directly with clients and regulatorsManaging and tracking client projects, project deliverables, invoices, and budgetsProviding regulatory and technical review and quality control support for projectsSynthesizing technical and regulatory information for clients and regulatorsProviding scientific technical peer review Mentoring junior staff You will have the following skills and qualifications Masters or Ph.D. degree in a science-related fieldTen (10) or more years of EPA TSCA regulatory experience. This position requires knowledge, solid understanding, and practical experience with U.S. EPA TSCA regulations for chemicals Ten (10) or more years of consulting experienceProven track record of business generation and attracting new and repeat clients or funding Outstanding reputation among clients and the scientific community for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to independently prepare, edit, and proofread technical and regulatory documentsMust be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectivelyStrong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environmentExperience with project management, budget tracking, and invoicing a plusExposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgmentPresently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing requiredEntrepreneurial spirit is a plusApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page]. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above, total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is depending on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
