SHIFT LEAD

Dairy Queen Shift Leader / Shift Manager

We are looking for an energetic and dependable Shift Leader / Shift Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and delivering excellent customer service.

As a Dairy Queen Shift Leader, you will help lead daily restaurant operations, support and motivate team members, maintain food quality and cleanliness standards, and ensure every guest receives fast, friendly service.

This is a great opportunity for someone with quick-service restaurant, fast-food, retail, or hospitality leadership experience who wants to grow into restaurant management.

Shift Leader Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts.
• Provide friendly, fast, and accurate customer service.
• Create a welcoming experience for every Dairy Queen guest.
• Help manage restaurant operations during scheduled shifts.
• Maintain strong speed-of-service and food-quality standards.
• Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks during busy periods.
• Coach, train, and support Dairy Queen crew members.
• Assist the General Manager and Assistant Managers with employee development.
• Make sure assigned positions are properly staffed and organized.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional restaurant.
• Follow Dairy Queen food safety, sanitation, and operating standards.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and work to quickly resolve problems.
• Model excellent performance standards for crew members.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
• Assist with opening, closing, cash handling, stocking, cleaning, and other restaurant operations as needed.
• Complete additional duties assigned by restaurant management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of high-volume quick-service restaurant or fast-food experience preferred.
• Previous shift leader, team leader, supervisor, or restaurant management experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead team members in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and food safety procedures.
• Must be able to obtain ServSafe® certification if required.
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Able to remain calm and professional during busy periods.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must maintain good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
