Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work in a 12-bed emergency department unit, with hallway beds utilized as needed
• Night shift staffing structure: 5 RNs and 1 paramedic until 2300, drops to 4 RNs and 1 paramedic at 0100, then 3 RNs and 1 paramedic from 0100 to 0700
• Care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, with the majority being adult patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5, up to 1:6 on rare occasions based on acuity
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, and de-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)
• Required skills include general ED skillset, chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Chart using Epic; equipment includes GE monitors, Alaris, and Pyxis
• RNs perform phlebotomy at the bedside
• Respiratory therapy and hospitalist support available in-house 24/7
• Bedside and nursing station telemetry available with no telemetry technician on staff
• CNA support available at a 1:12 ratio
• Lead RN functions as a resource; no titled charge RN in the ED
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday expectations vary based on unit need
• No floating to other units
• One orientation shift provided to learn unit flow
• Scrub color: Any
• Free on-site parking provided

Facility:

This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 69 total beds, offering a comprehensive range of emergency and specialty medical services to the surrounding community. The emergency department operates with 12 beds, including triage, and is supported by in-house respiratory therapy and hospitalist services available around the clock. The facility maintains a collaborative care environment with dedicated support staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
