General Cardiologist

Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Cardiologist for an ongoing locum opportunity beginning in October 2026. This position offers a collaborative practice environment with a balanced mix of inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, and call coverage.

Compensation: 24 Hour Call: $3350 per 24 hours.

Schedule

Start Date: October 2026

Ongoing assignment

Coverage: 7-day blocks every other month

24-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM)

Approximately 8 hours of onsite patient care daily

Telephone call coverage included

Low callback volume

Practice Setting

Hospital-based

Inpatient and Outpatient

Collaborative cardiology practice

Responsibilities

Inpatient cardiology consults and rounding

Outpatient cardiology clinic

Interpretation of stress tests

Echocardiogram reading and interpretation

Management of general cardiology patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings

Patient Volume

Average inpatient census: 15 patients per day

Average clinic volume: 8–10 patients per day

EMR: Epic

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology

Illinois license or willingness to obtain licensure (IMLC accepted)

DEA required

CSR required

BLS and ACLS certifications

Minimum of one year of experience

Additional Information

Full privileges available

Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days

Ongoing coverage with potential for additional assignments as program needs evolve

Providers work alongside other members of the cardiology team and are not expected to work solo.
