The Associate Housekeeper is responsible for routine cleaning of patient rooms, ancillary areas, and office spaces following established procedures and guidelines.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Clean assigned patient rooms and ancillary areas daily using appropriate cleaning agents.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts and janitor closets.
• Complete daily cleaning logs accurately and submit them to supervisors.
• Report any maintenance, safety, or equipment issues promptly to the appropriate department.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic literacy and ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential.

Experience:

0-3 months of housekeeping or floor care experience, which can be gained through on-the-job training or prior work.

Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Good communication skills and ability to organize work effectively.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, reach, twist, lift up to 40 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to hospital and Environmental Services policies.
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.

Working conditions may include exposure to unpleasant odors, body fluids, and potential exposure to infectious diseases. Work environment includes exposure to cleaning chemicals and wet or slick surfaces. Some areas may contain medications.
