The Financial Consultant plays an important role in SG&A financial management for Optum Insight, developing and managing enterprise financial reporting processes, consolidation templates, bridge analyses, and executive-level financial narratives. The individual will be responsible for consolidating performance insights, financial results, and risks and opportunities for submission to Optum Corporate Finance. The work supports UHG leadership and external reporting, making accuracy, attention to detail, and strong financial judgment critical.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Partner with finance and business teams to support financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activitiesAnalyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performanceHelp drive process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy and efficiencyPrepare and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for business partners and leadershipCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Accounting, Operations, Market, and ProductProvide recommendations and insights based on financial and operational dataSupport monthly and quarterly business reviews by preparing financial materials and analysisMonitor key business metrics and support achievement of financial goalsSupport team priorities and share knowledge with peers as appropriateYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field2+ years of relevant finance or accounting experienceSolid experience in FP&A, financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisDemonstrated ability to build and improve business processes, templates, and reporting frameworksProven highly accountable, self-directed, and comfortable operating with limited oversightProven solid communication skills with the ability to synthesize financial results into concise, executive-level narrativesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with financial planning systems such as Essbase, Hyperion, or similar platformsExperience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environmentProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProven solid analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to support decisions through data-driven insightsProven self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
